The Theunissen–Winburg branch line lies along the Bloemfontein–Kroonstad main line, diverging at Theunissen and extending approximately 45 km to Winburg. The route is being developed using DEM files and Google overlay maps to ensure accurate terrain representation and gradients.
This reconstruction features new South African Railway track and point mechanisms, set in the early 1970s prior to electrification and the introduction of colour light signalling.
