The Falcon Valley Route - Nevada Deserts
Route Description:
The Falcon Valey route could easily be a part of a long forgotten Railway line in the Nevada Desert area. The line is a narrow gauge line with a total of 70km of mainline track. The route start at Red Rock situated on the Southern side of the route and ends at Thornhill Station. The gradients are steep and reach 3,8% at some places. This is where both Driver and Machine will be tested to their limits using lots of coal and water as the steam locomotive slogs up the passes through Indian territory, travelling over rivers and through gorges till you reach the Eagles Nest river where the narrow gauge train will virtually run on the edge of the river rocks till it pass over the long wooden bridges near the Eagles Nest mine.
The Eagles Nest Mine is connected with a short branch line to a exchange siding just East of Thorhill, this track run over a long wooden trestle bridge over Thornhill Station to Thornhill North.
The Station names are : Red Rock, Red Rock Limber, Water Canyon, Black Creek, Limber Creek, Diamond River, Golden Eagle, Buffalo, Black Hawk, Eagles Nest Mine, Thornbirds, Thornbirds East and Vulcan.
In Total the track is more or less 70 km long, desert scenery and rocky mountains.
The next route we are building will be the Tidewater route from Tonopah and it is quite a challenge because most of the tracks are no more visible from Google Earth so any help or information will be greatly appreciated.
The Falcon Valley route is in the final stages and will be available at the end of April 2021.
The images used is this route is still work in progress and many assets are replaced by new assets to ensure a very interesting route to our train friends. The locomotives used in the images is from the famouse Clear Creek, Britkits as well as from Machine Rail. Machine Rail provide high quality steam locomotives from the old American type and can be purchased here: https://www.machine-rail.com/
The inspiration for Iron Horse Production comes from a passion for Steam Locomotives, special interest in the American Steam locomotives and also the old Wild West movies with trains and cowboys.
